Cardenal Mendoza Brandy
Limited Edition Label
Early last year I was invited to visit the Sánchez Romate Hnos. Winery in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, as part of a commission to design a limited edition label for their world famous brandy, Cardenal Mendoza.
For the following 9 months I worked with art director, Luis Våzquez creating the front and back label, the neck wrap, an illustrated barcode (naturally:), wax seal and my favourite part, an embossed illustrated canister. We also decided to spray the bottle.
The breif was to create a contempary illustrated/hand lettered label that by referencing the colour palette, motifs and lettering of the past and current designs, would still be recognised by the traditional Cardenal Mendoza drinker.
I hope you like the results - I'm very happy:)))
