Acrylic on board - 22 × 28cm

This painting combines lettering, image and texture, so that labeling becomes part of the image rather than a separate description. I am interested in breaking down words and labels beyond letterforms until language functions as shape and pattern, allowing meaning to operate visually rather than literally. The peacock becomes both image and sign - decorative, but also suggestive of a larger story.

Part of an ongoing studio practice rooted in folk tales, pattern and decorative traditions.

Thanks for taking a look at this project
