I like to go through a series of sketches with clients prior to starting with colour. These have been dropped into the supplied template.

I like to create a colour palette before I start working up the artwork - this is never rigid and often tweaks are made as the project progresses

Unusually, rather than progressing the artwork for the cover, in this instance I moved on to the tokens. As the artwork for the tokens would be featured on the cover is was best to finish them first.

The characters were redrawn in profile. I had illustrated the tokens much larger than I needed so I could adapt them for the cover artwork
